Surprise engagement session

I love the idea of the surprise proposal/engagement session. It seems to be the hot thing to do these days. Aren't familiar with the craze? The long and short of it is... guy plans romantic proposal to girlfriend and hires a photographer to hide in the bushes and capture the entire event. Then, the photographer reveals him- or her-self and the couple enjoys a spontaneous engagement photo session. I was visiting my photographers blog today and was excited to see these pics from a recent ambush.

What do you think? A great idea?

Yes, yes, yes!!! I would have loved this!! I can totally see it in an urban restaurant during an early cocktail, going out and doing spontaneous epics, and then settling in for a great meal at a favorite restaurant.

Great idea! We were hired to FILM a proposal!
Soon-to-be fiance' had us pretend to be filming restaurant decor as his girlfriend joined him for brunch. We turned the camera on them as he got down on one knee to propose. We captured the words, the "YES!" the excited, surprised voices as well as the happy, teary faces. Thought it would make a great DVD wedding announcement or invitation.

Oh, I love the idea of a filmed proposal!! That would be perfect to show at the wedding reception, or the rehearsal dinner :)

We had so much fun being a part of this. I was soooo nervous for Dan. But I was able to be really hidden and unseen.
